LASH EXTENSION FAQ
WHAT ARE LASH EXTENSION
At J.LuxeStudio we use the softest quality silk lash extensions in different lengths, thicknesses, and curls, the lash extensions are attached to your individual eyelashes with a specially formulated bonding agent. Professionally applied extensions create longer, fuller-looking lashes that don't require makeup to look bomb! Eyelash extensions are applied to each of your existing lashes, close to but not touching the eyelid.
HOW LONG WILL A SET LAST?
Eyelash extensions last anywhere from 2-3 weeks depending upon how well you take care of the lashes and how slow or fast your natural lash shed/growth cycle is. The average person loses anywhere from 2-5 natural lashes per day, which is why fills are required during a specific time frame.
To better explain why fills are necessary...
Say you have 200 natural lashes and you lose roughly 5 lashes/day, after 3 weeks you will have lost over 50% of your natural lashes which is why you would need a fill either at 3 weeks or earlier.
DO LASH EXTENSIONS HURT? WILL THEY DAMAGE MY NATURAL LASH?
Eyelash extensions should never hurt or damage your natural lashes when applied correctly and professionally by an educated artist. In fact when applied correctly you could have lash extensions on for years with no breaks!

HOW LONG ARE THE APPOINTMENTS?
Appointments vary in time depending upon the amount of natural lashes you have and the style you want.
Full sets range from 2 hours - 3 hours. Fills range from 45 minutes - 2 hours.
HOW SOON BEFORE AN EVENT SHOULD I GET MY LASH EXTENSIONS DONE?
For the best results please book an appointment 2 to 3 days before your special occasion. This ensures accurate curing time for the bonding agent (which can take up to 48 hours) and the freshest possible look for the lashes.
CAN I WEAR MAKE-UP?
Yes, but avoid oil-based makeup and makeup remover as this may weaken the bond of the glue. Keep in mind that it’s best to avoid using mascara, waterproof eyeliner and eyelash curlers on extensions. Most mascaras and eyeliners contain products that will damage and dissolve the extensions’ bonding agent.
CAN I REMOVE LASH EXTENSIONS BY MYSELF?
We do not recommend attempting to remove the lash extensions yourself as this can damage your natural lashes. If you would like your lashes removed please book with one of our trained professionals. We use a specially formulated product that is used to release the bonding glue and remove the lashes safely and easily. A removal typically takes 30 minutes.
